Grade 12 Creative Writing Portfolio

Closing Letter
Without doubt, senior year English has been an interesting ride. It's had its successfully analyzed and annotated poems, but it's certainly also had its fair share of sleepless nights spent juggling the possibilities of a paper's conclusion. Nonetheless, I’m extremely glad that I took creative writing. There was always a lot of flexibility allowed in our writing, which made for a much easier flow. I didn’t constantly find myself struggling to exactly answer a prompt, because it seemed that whatever I wrote would always be welcomed and appreciated. And for that reason, I have found myself to have developed an honest fondness for not only writing, but for poetry, as well. I had always been the person on the outside to read and admire, but never attempt. However, creative writing has allowed me to realize that I can write about whatever I want, in any style that I please, and it still be important (at least, to me.)
Preparing my portfolio of senior year English has also been an interesting ride in itself. It was both difficult, yet enlightening. I found that writing reflections on my work, as well as the introducing and concluding letters were the most difficult part. Reflecting on my own work requires me to take somewhat of a different stance on my own thoughts, but at the same time, it teaches me things about myself and the way that I think that I have never known before. And in the end, I have come to realize that I’m not that bad of a writer after all- I’m actually pretty darn good!
Conclusions have always been quite difficult for me, so I will make this into something more of a new beginning. The pages of my portfolio remain incomplete, and will continue to be added to for years to come. It is true that this is the end of senior year English, but this is certainly not the end of my writing. My story has yet to be finished.
